Bear with me as I start this post with very blunt words: If you are maligning, making sarcastic comments, or posting disparaging remarks on social media concerning the President, you are not walking according to the dictates of God’s word. Please don’t do that! Speak evil of no man. (Titus3:2) Don’t allow yourself to be used by the hand of the enemy as a tool to further divide America.
Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God’s emissaries for keeping order. It is God’s will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you’re a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government. (1 Peter 2:13-17 MSG)It is no coincidence that the media and many people from the liberal side of politics are so driven to destroy a newly elected President without even giving him a chance to preside. What you see is anger from satan, himself, because he was JustThisClose to destroying our nation with a political spirit that was choking the life out of us. I am not saying that we have a nation of demon possessed people who, among other things, march in protest, or that demons are running the airwaves. I am saying, however, that these people are blind, willing participants in the schemes of the devil to divide our country, because he knows that if we are divided, we cannot stand:
But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand…” (Matthew 12:25 NKJV)
Christian friends, don’t be a part of division! Ever!
…For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. (Romans 13:1)
But first, understand that before Donald Trump was born, God had a plan for him. He wrote in His book the days fashioned for Trump….just the same as He did for you and me (Psalm 139:16). Before the foundation of the world; He chose us! (Ephesians 1:4)
…You covered me in my mother’s womb… Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. (Psalm 139:13, 16 NKJV)It is our responsibility to pray for our leaders…do you want a great awakening in America? I know I do! I long for the day God heals our land. We won’t get that just because Donald Trump is in office. We will start to see revival sweeping our nation when we humble ourselves and seek God. (2 Chronicles 7:14) Otherwise, we remain in a state of complicity in the demise of America.
Pray.
Pray hard.
Without ceasing.
If Jesus often prayed often,
how much more do we need to pray?
Prayer points for President Trump:
- Pray for his salvation, that he be filled with the Holy Spirit.
- Pray that his eyes be opened so that he sees, that his ears be opened so that he hears from God, and pray that his heart is opened so that he understands.
- Pray for maturity in his position.
- Pray that the Holy Spirit infiltrates his every decision.
- Pray that God gives him spiritual wisdom.
- Pray that President Trump is consistently surrounded by God-fearing, praying men and women.
- Pray that God gives him strength to follow through with Godly decisions, even in the face of much opposition.
- Pray for his safety.
- Pray for Truth to sweep our nation, that the blinders be removed from God’s people, and that the Holy Spirit will permeate and saturate this nation in a way that those of us living in this day have never seen.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

I pray for President Trump, the VP Pence, and their families every day as well as for all of Congress. I am in a very odd position in that I am highly offended when I hear some ridicule Trump in a surly, disrespectful way...but I am also offended when I hear Christians praise him as tho he were the moral standard placed in office by God to save America. Seriously...
ReplyDeleteMy own approach, when forced to express it, is a neutral one. I recognize the liberal spin, and that may be a generous way to put it. But I also see the blind followers who believe everything Trump despite noticeable cracks in the story.
So, I pray for him, do not join in with either Trump bashing hysteria or idolatry of the great white hope, and am willing for him to be a success. Mostly: We'll see what God has wrought.
I wholeheartedly agree with your prayer points. In my own prayers, I hit them all except for the maturity one. I will certainly be adding that; I can't believe I neglected it.
You're a brave soul, TBR. I've never seen a more volatile atmosphere as we have now in that it is almost impossible to have a reasonable, back and forth discussion of the president. Something off with that... Praying for the president and VP's safety is paramount.
I should add "safety" to my prayer points. You'd think I would have remembered to include something that important. I guess what bothers me most when it comes to bashing our president is when it comes from professing Christians. I've even seen video clips of local preachers disrespecting the office of President (President Trump, that is) from the pulpit. It's just wrong. You are so right, times are volatile, and that's why it is so important for Christians to be praying instead of bashing.

ReplyDeletecomes to mind when reading your post. Donald Trump will have to give an accounting to God when it is his time to give an accounting. God put him in authority (all in authority, pastors, etc., will be held similarly to a "higher" standard because of their appointments).
I have made it a very big point to pray for Donald Trump daily. Covered some of your points, not all of them but will focus on all of them in the days ahead. We who believe must believe that God allowed him to be elected for whatever reason God so decided. We would go against God's sovereignty and will and plan if we did not pray for our leaders and submit to them (as long as they don't go against what God would want us to do). The presidency is young; I see great and mighty things being accomplished because God's people took up the challenge and humbled themselves and prayed and repented....It could indeed happen!

DeleteWhile I do agree with 99% of your comments and support Trump's stances on most issues (which I would do even if I weren't a Christian), I would point our there is a difference in God placing someone in a leadership position and allowing someone to be placed there. The OT teaches that in connection with Israel's first king.

DeleteI agree God does allow things...and there are definitely times when He allows things that we do not like.
As far as Saul goes, God placed him in power, and he was a mighty and powerful king. When he made the decision to blatantly disregard God's command (that only priests could sacrifice to seek God's favor) and Samuel's dictate to wait until he got there, God then anointed another king...and of course we know the story of how long it took David to actually take the throne. It was Saul's disobedience that caused his removal from the throne. Even though it had made God angry that the people demanded a human king instead of a sovereign one, when he gave them Saul, I don't believe it was God's plan to punish His chosen with the king He chose.
Did you pray for President Obama while he was in office like this? If not then you are a hypocrite. And you are judgemenal. Democrats are not choking the life out of America that would be the repubs agenda. Many Christians voted for Obama.

I did pray for Obama’s salvation. I didn’t do it near enough. I may have thought it was a lost cause…I freely admit I was dismayed with his first election, and shocked and disheartened with his second election. I also acknowledge that I was wrong to not diligently pray for him. I did not, as far as I recall, bash him. The first four years, I hoped I was wrong about him. I was not.
It’s harsh, but it’s Biblical: Not everyone who says they are a Christian is saved. (Matthew 7:21-23) That’s not being judgmental…that’s just how it is. Yes, Christians did vote for Obama; had they not, he most likely would not have been elected.
ALL of us will stand before the judgment throne of God one day and give an account for our actions and choices. I do not know how someone who has a personal relationship with Christ could vote for/support someone who, among other things, blatantly supports those things God deems an abomination and pushes the “right” to end life in the womb just because it was inconvenient. I would venture to say that someone with a true relationship would not…those entrenched in religion might.
Caveat: I do not condone abortion under any circumstance, but to be clear, for this comment, I am not speaking of pregnancy by rape or incest.

You lost me when you said "liberals". That statement said you have decided there is a right side (yours) and a wrong side (liberals). Someone disagreeing with your politics is not Satan speaking. Satan can quote the Bible better than you or I can.
ReplyDeleteIt behooves all God fearing people to pray in the manner you have suggested. Donald Trump supporters who are believers need to call Donald Trump and factions of our country out for not being truthful, racism, environmental pollution, a lack of charity to those who are sick or in need. As one person you cannot straighten the entire mess up. But as a group, supporters are responsible for his actions. When Donald Trump does not tell the truth and his supporters blame "liberals" for attacking him instead of expecting the truth, they are guilty of supporting the untruthfulness.
As a Southerner, I remember hearing about Robert E. Lee's reply to a man who said "God was on the side of the South." He said, God was on the side of the North too.
It aggrieves me when I read content that you have written. I do think you are a Godly woman and mean the best for everyone. But you have mixed your political views with your religious views. God is not a Republican or Democrat.
I did not know I was a liberal. I would never have voted for Trump.
I didn't say "liberals" so I'm a little unsure where I lost you. I did say "many people from the liberal side of politics," and I stand by that statement. I agree with you that we should always demand truth...but it does seem as if so few know what truth is. It's very hard to find. Just because someone doesn't agree with what's said doesn't make it false, but it does seem to be that at times those who are saying someone else lied is simply a difference of opinion.

DeleteWow. You certainly stirred the pot with this post, didn't you? I really didn't think it was all that extreme--and you know that I did NOT vote for Donald Trump. Of course, I didn't vote for Hilary, either. (I just draw the line at classifying killing babies as women's health.)
ReplyDeleteWhile I understand why many Christian's voted for Trump--I really do==I couldn't bring myself to vote for someone who ran such a vile and class-less campaign, wrecking good men who had stronger faith and better lives than he. For me, choosing the lesser of two evils was repulsive. BUT I do get that the positions he espoused where more in line with Christian values than Clinton's. Hah. And THAT understatement is exactly why Christians who were appalled by Trump's verbiage still voted for him. I get it.
I said all of that to say: Even tho I couldn't bring myself to vote for Trump, it is clear that many people are exaggerating--and sometimes just making up--his actions and positions. You don't have to be a fan to hear the spin from the Dems. I watch both CNN & Fox to try to get the whole picute and I am often left shaking my head at the self-righteous bashing of Trump about things that are not quite true as stated.
Seriously. He does enough real stuff to find ammunition against him. Like those tweets..and that overuse of adjectives that makes him sound like a 12 year old....ahh, I won't make a list here.
AS stated, I pray for Trump exactly as you've outlined. It's what all people who are concerned for the welfare of this country should do. WE should also all be a little more discerning before we digest and spew out the party line.
(Personal disclosure. I'm a social worker and life-long Democrat. So, it's not like I don't understand the view from the left. My party line affiliation is nonexistent. It's actual fact and logical conclusions that I seek.)

Thank you, Deb. He does do some "unpresidential" things...which is why I added "mature in his position to my prayer points. He's not a politician. He is used to saying what he pleases, when he pleases...obviously. He does have a bit of "growing up" in the political world.
DeleteChuckle. Indeed he does. But, despite his presentation, Trump is a smart man who likes to accomplish his goals. He'll be inclined to make adjustments--and prayer changes things. God can enable him to be the statesmen he needs to be while still "draining the swamp" as he goes. We'll keep praying that list of yours and watch God move.

Our country is very divided. It is a spiritual war as you claim. I believe, also, that God heard the prayers of His people and gave us this one last chance in our nation. Many Christians do not get this, but you do, and I admire your spunk. I just know that you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but you are a truth seeker and biblically sound. Thank-you for sharing the scripture that instructs us to have respect for our government and those in authority. Yes, we need to pray! Your bias comes through even when you try to be neutral. If Christians can't be neutral they should pray about posts like these before posting because unfortunately you become a part of the division. I literally have no sides in this battle; I don't care if you're Republican or Democrat; I don't think one party is better than the other. I'll continue to pray for all my leaders regardless of if I agree with their policies or not.

Trump was not my first choice and I certainly was not happy with the way he ran his campaign... however... !!! All fake news aside, we need to look at facts when we are deciding who we cast our vote for. If God says it, then it is true. Killing babies is murder, pure and simple. Easy decision. I voted Trump. I do not want to be found lukewarm when Jesus comes.... and God bless you for telling it like it is!!
